Hello from Fountainside Gallery!
As we all wait for the lower temperatures and
humidity of fall, we think of getting our homes ready for
the winter and holiday seasons. Now is the perfect time to
decide on those decorating changes (and sometimes
challenges!). Do-it-yourself projects can be added to the
calendar as fall allows us to work outdoors comfortably.
Did you know that a piece of art can help you decide
a whole color scheme? Artists are color experts! When they
create a painting, they choose colors that relate, creating
harmony. Decorators often use a painting to select wall,
upholstery and accent colors for an entire room...how easy!
Studies show that the colors in the artwork you choose are
the ones that bring you joy in your environment, so picking
out art tells you a lot about what makes your house a
"home". Why not check out some of the gallery's new pieces
today? We can guide you through the process of choosing just
the right ones!
COMING ATTRACTIONS!
 Fountainside
Gallery's next exhibit, titled "INTERPRETATIONS",
features an interesting mix of painting and
photography. Popular artist Rick McClure has teamed up
with local photographer G. Frank Hart to produce a
fascinating show. Rick has taken Frank's beautiful
photos of the Carolinas and interpreted them in his
own inimitable way. Each artist will show the pieces
that were collaborated on as well as individual
selections. Rick's workshop prior to the show is now
filled. "Interpretations" opens on October 18 with a
reception from 6-8 and runs through November 9. Be
sure to mark your calendar! Shown to the right:
"Warm Marsh Panorama", 15x30, oil on canvas,
$2600

NEW
ARRIVALS! More exciting new work continues to
arrive from our hard-working artists. Connecticut
artist Anda Styler and Georgia painter Rani Garner
have sent us fresh, colorful new
paintings!
Anda Styler graduated from Parson
School of Design in 1983 with her BA in Fine Art. She
exhibits in galleries in Wisconsin, North Carolina,
Connecticut, New York, Vermont, Washington DC, and
Massachusetts. She has been nominated and received
various awards and recognition for her work. Her solo
shows have generated wonderful reviews and have become
a part of many permanent collections. Some of her
recent commissions include large pieces that are now
in Houston and other states in the midwest. Styler’s
art biography can be found in Marquis Who’s Who in
America, published in 2002. In 1996 she was one of
four Connecticut women to be represented in the open
house for the Connecticut Commission of Women.
Victoria Magazine published her work in 1996 and in
that same year New York Graphics Society selected her
painting entitled “The Orchard Where I Danced.” Gibson
Card Company/ Creative Papers bought several of her
paintings to be reproduced as greeting cards in 1996
and 1997.
Rani Garner, a transplanted Arizonan
speculates that growing up in a desert environment has
helped her appreciate the trees that now fill her
canvasses. The paintings, which often feature dazzling
light have won awards in regional competitions and
hang in numerous corporate and private
collections.

CONGRATULATIONS TO DAVID WEISS AND QIANG
HUANG!
 Each year the Oil
Painters of America holds a national competition and
two regional competitions in which only the best oil
painters in the country are juried in. This year's
Western Regional Exhibition contains the works of two
of Fountainside Gallery's artists, David Weiss and
Qiang Huang. Each of these fine painters have
previously juried into the competitions; a third entry
allows them signature membership in the organization
and will allow them to put "OPA" on their paintings.
The OPA is the premiere art group in the country and
the initialed signature validates the quality of the
artist's work. Congratulations to both David and
Qiang! Shown to the left: "Two to One", Qiang
Huang, 9x12, $800
